Young hero Varun Sandesh has been desperately eying a hit for quite some time now. His latest flick ‘Ee Varsham Sakshiga’ has hit the screens today. Let’s see whether it gives Varun his much needed hit.
Story:-
Varun Sandesh (Jai) is an innocent young man who always gets cheated by girls. One fine day, he meets Mahalakshmi(Haripriya) in a train and falls for her during the course of the journey.
After he returns home, Jai decides to reveal his love towards Mahalakshmi and sets off to her native place to meet the girl of his dreams.
One he lands there, he gets a huge shock as he finds out that Mahalakshmi has eloped with someone and has left her family in distress. What will Jai do now ? Will he find Mahalakshmi? What happens to his love ? That forms the rest of story.
Plus Points:-
Basic plus point of the film is Varun Sandesh and his performance. He is pretty good as an innocent young man and plays this role to the best of his capabilities.
First half of the film is ok and has some fun elements. The comedy provided by Venu, Dhanraj and Chandra brings a few laughs in the second half. Heroine Haripriya looks good in her role and ably supports Varun Sandesh through out the film.
Minus Points:-
Sadly for Varun Sandesh, Ee Varsham Sakshiga is yet another film where nothing goes right. The story is quite outdated, and the way it has been narrated is also below par.
Second half of the film is sluggish and takes unnecessary twists and turns. Whatever fun that was showcased in the first half gets overshadowed by a boring and predictable second half. Even though the comedy showcased during the second half is ok in bits and pieces, it spoils the flow of the film during the climax.
The writing is so bad that every twist and turn can easily be guessed. The makers have weaved the story around a group of comedians and thought it should have worked, it flops big time in this case. Jeeva’s track looks foolish and has been designed horribly.
Technical Aspects:-
Music of the film is decent and so are the lyrics. Screenplay of the film is hugely disappointing and quite predictable. Editing is just about ok but a few comedy bits could have been easily chopped off during the end.
Coming to the director Ramana Mogili, he has done a poor job with the script. He starts the proceedings well but his direction goes haywire after the interval. He fills up the second half with some illogical scenes and unwanted comedy tracks.Camerawork is ok and so are the production values.
Verdict:-
Varun Sandesh needs to wait for some more time to get a hit under his belt. He needs to be careful as the way he is choosing his scripts will take him no where. Varun Sandesh’s performance and an ok first half are the only plus points of this film, which is otherwise quite boring and can easily be ignored this weekend.
